When people come by the house they expect treats

I mean, every time I put out snacks they go for it. It's a no brainer. Once they get used to getting treats they expect it every time. I buy large amounts of candy, cookies and soda pop because I never know when a person will come by. We cook just enough for 3 people, so if someone comes by at mealtime there is enough for a third plate. If not we put the leftovers away for later.

I have always preferred people coming after letting us know. I love entertaining guests and so it is more for my pleasure than theirs

What a lovely host and hostess you guys are. It is nice that you have all treats and extra dinner for someone.

It could backfire. Once my step son and his kids were over, without calling first and my step son went for my bag of Cheetos. After he was half way finished with the bag he said, "I ate these, is that okay?" He knew better and it wasn't okay. I had to buy another bag. lol.

I do not like to have "unexpected" visitors. I always ask that they phone in advance.

They come over anyway. They just haven't any manners. It's like that here.

That's so nice of you, you're always prepared for unexpected visitors. The extra food won't be put to waste anyway in case no one drops by.

On days we are not ready for visitors we always have tea made and plenty of pop corn.

It seems old fashioned now to have treats and drinks out for a visitor bt its a tradition want to carry forward.

We generally have something to offer. I learn their snacking habits pretty fast.
