Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported the news on Saturday the Chicago Bears have signed former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Jerrell Freeman to a three year, $12 million dollar contract. Freeman became a free agent when his four year contract with the Indianapolis Colts expired at the end of the 2015 football season. Freeman did not to stay with the Colts after they offered a "hometown discount" to remain with the team in 2016. Freeman played three seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League from 2009-2011. The Bears recently signed former Denver Broncos linebacker Danny Trevathan to join Freeman as the newest inside linebackers for the Bears defense in the 2016 football season. The Bears defense which has the nickname "The Monsters Of The Midway" should improve the chances of the Bears making the playoffs in 2016 for the first time since the 2010 football season with the addition of Trevathan and Freeman as their inside linebackers.

I don't follow who plays for who much other than the favorite team. Maybe the bears will have a chance? My daughter would love it. Me on the other hand not so much as the bears are one of our biggest rivals.

I am just a casual fan of the league myself but I do try to follow which players are playing for their new team when free agency begins.

@Deepizzaguy Agreed just a fair weather fan here. But of all professional sports I enjoy watching the Pack and during their off season we watch Nascar (well as much of it that is on broadcast tv).
