I think that to some degree, they can. I've noticed my birds act really weird before an earthquake. But the rabbits and piggies, not so much.

Years ago a sismologist from The west was visiting China. Suddenly the people began running out of their houses. They had been warned of an earthquake that had not yet happened. What do you think warned them it was comming. I'll tell you the answer later

I wouldn't doubt it because when we had a tornado coming our way my cats went nuts...running around like crazy beasts with their fur standing on end, I had never seen them act like this before (we did get the tornado by the way).

i think it is true...their senses are a lot more advanced then ours. a slight change in the weather or movement on the earth...there are small signs that something big may be coming and animals can sense that.

tornado - Pets sense tornadoes and storms on the way long before we do.
I'm sure that they can. I don't live in an area where it's common to have earthquakes, but we do have a lot of storms and tornados. I do know that pets can sense the really bad storms and tornadoes and know that they are coming long before I do.

I read some research that showed that birds can sense them and I have a friend in CA that swears her horses know... so would guess that dogs and cats could as well.

Pets can sense all sorts of things. They know when the weather will turn and if you're not feeling well to name a couple.
