I don't remember a whole lot at this point. I got settled into bed, put a blood pressure cuff on and I don't know what else.
They would come in and take blood.
Now, they've got an IV in my arm, why can't they pull out the in-go, pull blood out and then put the IV back in? But no, with my stupid rolling veins they had to go and stick me again and again to get blood.
Later that evening the doc came in and told me that he was a little concerned about what my blood is doing, its getting low. So, if its still low, or is lower after the next blood draw, they are going to give me a unit back of my blood.
That night went well enough, they would come in and give me a pain shot when I asked, but I was still really dopy from the surgery.
However, they took out the cathater, and when I needed to pee, they wanted me to do it in a bed pan. Don't you know, they spilled it all over the bed, so then they had to change it... If they had just let me use a bedside potty I could've avoided that bit of fun...
Still, the next morning, I guess after the doc had finished his surgery of the morning, he came up and said that my blood had improved so they weren't going to have to give me any.
And this was why I had been "loading" my organs with blood, to avoid having to be given blood, even my own.
However, because of my health, he wanted to keep me another day. I have to say, that about this point of time, I was in some pain. Not agony, but pain.
So, rather than have to worry about getting dressed and going home, I only had to worry about what would be on my plate for my next meal.
I didn't have to worry about that as it turned out.
However, that night, the second night, was the worst. I was in pain. Quite a bit of pain, but I kept falling asleep and dreaming I had pushed the button and then I'd wake up saying: "Pain med... pain med..." Then I do it again.
I finally stayed awake long enough to acutally push the button and get the meds.

Oh heck, spilling the bed pan. One would think they would be adept at such a thing, but no.
Okay waiting to see what happens next.
