Rand Getlin reported on his Twitter account on Sunday the San Diego Chargers have signed free agent defensive back Casey Hayward to a three year, $15.3 million dollar contract. Hayward was a second round draft choice of the Green Bay Packers in the 2012 National Football League Draft out of Vanderbilt University. Hayward decided to enter the free agent market when his four year contract with the Packers expired at the end of the 2015 football season. One reason Hayward decided to sign his three year deal with the Chargers is that he will have a chance to play a full time role as a corner back for the Chargers. Hayward had a part time role as a slot corner back role with the Packers in 2015. The Packers will replace Hayward as their defensive back with Damarious Randall who will be in second season in the league as well as Quentin Rollins who is also in his second year during the 2016 football season.
