Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports on Sunday the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos are interested in signing unrestricted free agent quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to a contract if he lowers his asking price to continue playing football due to the salary cap.
Fitzpatrick who was the starting quarterback of the New York Jets during the 2015 football season became a free agent when his current contract expired at the end of the current football season.
The Broncos only have on their current roster second year quarterback Trevor Siemian and Mark Sanchez after the retirement of quarterback Peyton Manning after 18 seasons in the National Football League and his backup quarterback Scott Osweiler signed a four year contract with the Houston Texans on March 9, 2016.
If Fitzpatrick is not able to work out a deal to become the quarterback of the Broncos in 2016, the Broncos are interested in making a deal to acquire San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick if they reach an agreement to have Kaepernick lower his salary to fit into the Broncos payroll.
It remains to be seen which team will have the services of Fitzpatrick before the start of the 2016 football season.

I know what you mean. After Osweiler left the team the Broncos are in desperate need for another quarterback to succeed Peyton Manning who will not return.
