Have you ever had your house power painted on the outside?

I usually just get up on a ladder with a bucket of paint and take my time. But this takes a long time and getting up on a ladder can be tricky. Lose your balance and you hit the ground with a thump or a bump and an ouch!
I have always painted with a brush but I hear they have these power paint sprayers that these painter use when they come by and do the work. I hate the idea of them spraying the house. I think they might get it on the windows or the roof or the lawn. Any ideas about this method of house painting?

My son owns a painitng busines, so he painted my house inside and out after I moved in. I think he rolled most of it, but not sure, as I didn't watch him paint it. He did a really good job though, and when it needs repainting, he will do it.

@lookatdesktop I sure am, as I don't have to hire anyone else to do the painting. I do have to pay him, but he gives me a discount becasue I am his mom.

@lookatdesktop Possibly true, but you have to remember that 9/10ths of the time spent is about preparation.

You know there are bubbles under some of the paint on our house siding shingles from the terrible summer heat blazing on it's surface. I think I need a wire brush to remove these bubbles before I get up on the ladder and go to painting with the brush, a 4 inch I think will do for now.

I've not seen this method of house painting. My house is vinyl sided so I've never had to worry about painting it. The siding has lasted well so far the 24 years it's been on the house, surviving several hurricanes and tropical storms with only minor damage. Knock-on-wood.

@lookatdesktop Giving the area to be painted a good cleaning is an excellent idea. I remember my father scrapping off loose and bubbling paint from my grandfather's house when he helped paint it decades ago.

The traffic is so bad in Dallas you have to repaint the houses once every 4 or 6 years just to cover up the blotches caused by the traffic and dust residue. I also think I should spray the house with a good strong bit of hose water and let it dry good before painting so the paint will actually come in contact with a clean surface instead of dust and dirt then remain on the shingles longer, don't you agree?
