Fox Sports reporter Ken Rosenthal on Monday shared the news on Monday the Texas Rangers are interested in making a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers for their catcher Jonathan Lucroy before the start of the 2016 baseball season.
Milwaukee Brewers general manager David Stearns would like to receive from the Rangers a top prospect in return for the services of Lucroy who has played his entire career with the Brewers since he made his debut in the Major Leagues in 2010.
Rosenthal reports that the Rangers and Brewers have not started making any talks about a possible trade as of Monday.
Lucroy will be paid a salary of $4 million dollars by the Brewers in 2016. Lucroy has a team option of $5.25 million dollars for the 2017 baseball season.
The Brewers are not expected to contend to make the playoffs in 2016 so it possible that if they can receive from the Rangers or any other team in the Major Leagues their top prospects so they can rebuild their team for the future it could happen.
The trade could happen during the 2016 baseball season since the Houston Astros, Oakland Athletics and Washington Nationals are also interested in having the services of the 29 year old starting catcher of the Brewers when he is healthy can provide some much needed hitting power for any team that will be needing his services.

I am groaning at this development. Lucroy would make the Rangers better and that's more bad news for the Angels.

I feel your pain. Lucroy could be traded before the trade deadline if he has a good year with the Brewers.
