lenten season traditions

it's almost the start of the lenten season here in the Philippines (and other countries) and almost everyone's looking forward to the Easter Season.. Although a lot of us Christians and Catholics no longer practice old traditions, still there are some who does. So what are the most common Easter and Lenten Season traditions that are common in your country and what can you say about them?

We do host Lent lunch inviting people how much we can accommodate in our house, with simple meal of soup and bread. after having lunch they do give offerings. we collect those and give it to church. Church collects these offerings during Lenten days whoeveri is hosting and then the total amount will go to the needy people.

that's really nice of you and your family. here in our country - old traditions still exist but there are towns here and there who does what you do. :)
