The Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday have signed former Denver Broncos offensive guard Evan Mathis to a one year, $6 million dollar contract.
Mathis was a third round draft choice of the Carolina Panthers in the 2005 National Football League Draft out of the University of Alabama.
Mathis has played on the offensive line for the Panthers from 2005-2007, Miami Dolphins in 2008, Cincinnati Bengals from 2008-2010, Philadelphia Eagles from 2011-2014 and the Denver Broncos in 2015.
Mathis has one Super Bowl ring as a member of the 2015 Denver Broncos who won Super Bowl 50. The Broncos were not able to sign him to a contract extension at the end of the football season.
Mathis has surgery on his right foot ankle month. Mathis will receive a pay raise from $2.5 million dollars from the Broncos to six million dollars with the Cardinals in 2016.
The Cardinals will enter the 2016 football season as the defending National Football Conference West Division champions.
