My father , who is a diabetic , had his left lower leg amputated last year .
And just this morning , my sister texted me to inform that his prosthetic leg was delivered by the maker yesterday and his physical therapist was there to help him practice it.
And once it was put on and was taught how to go about with it , my father keeps dancing and clapping much to the amusement of his therapist and the maker .
The therapist was distraught because he was still to be taught how to balance it , but my father just cannot contain his joy in having it .
I am happy because finally , my father can walk again by himself. And he is just so enthusiastic about it .
Just sharing , this happy moment of my father .

I just couldn't help drawing a laugh when you mentioned how distraught his therapist was when your dad could not contain his joy with the new "leg". I couldn't exactly comprehend the feeling but I can see that your dad does not need a therapist to adapt and rehabilitate which is really remarkable considering what he went through.
I am further hoping that he will be able to manage his diabetic condition and be cured eventually. Take care.

Actually , my mother over nail cut his toe . Since my father didn't feel it , it just get sore and won't get healed until it was already blackish . At the hospital , he was told that it could spread . So , he told the doctor to just cut it instead so it won't get to creep up to his heart ,
So be careful of your glucose .

Oh hi ! It seems you have been away here for quite sometime ha ?
Yes, we keep telling him to diet . But sometimes he can't be told and would say to let him eat well because anyway , he will be dying a few more years since he had the times of his life already . Hay naku !

Thank you my dear friend . He has been wanting this prosthetic leg , however he accidentally scraped his amputated leg when one time he was trying to transfer to his wheel chair from the bed . So it took him almost a year before he can have it .
Now , he is so excited .

@SIMPLYD why did it take a year before the replacement prosthetic came, my friend? Maybe because many also wanted their artificial limbs as soon as possible?

Just stick to the diabetic diet and medication and your DM will be manageable .
My father only have his insulin shot some two years ago . That's because he gained weight and keeps eating much of the prohibited foods plus he doesn't exercise anymore .

At this point of his life , at the age of 83 , he said he already had the times of his life . But still , with this prosthetic leg , we know that he is still hopeful to still enjoy life with us .

Indeed . It made him dance and clap much to the frantic call of his physical therapist because he wasn't much taught of on how to balance it yet . But he kept taunting her .
