There are so many fanincial scams going on now from IRS, Telephone, Software even to Rental Scams.
Please be very careful as they are out to get any money you might have.
Before believing any of these telephone calls, people coming to the door, letters in your mailbox, online or anything else research before giving or sending any money to anyone.
You can call your local police department or bank, check online to see what the business says to check out if this might be a scam.

I agree with you @Marcyaz I was once a victim of this. I got a text telling me I won a car and have to call the number. Young and naive as I was before, I called the number and give me details of my winnings. Then came the glitch. I have to give them money 50,000 in Philippine pesos (around $1,200+).

Hi Marcy. I am extra careful about everything.
Sometimes people do get scammed.

I always take the info, and then research the place and call them back with the number I find, not the one given to me, or tell them mail me the info. they never do lol

You have done and are doing the right thing because they can give you any old number or mail the info.

We get these calls every single day. Sometimes 3 times a day. I just hang up on them. They REALLY annoy me!

@Marcyaz Yeah it can drive me insane some days. I used to pick up and be all sweet "No thank you." or "I'm so sorry I'm not interested."
Now I either just hang up or tell them to shove it.
Why should I be nice to people who are trying to scam others!

They target people who are vulnerable which is what really upsets me. Most people who are on the Internet know better than to believe a threatening phone call but their grandma may not be!!

I think someone just starting out on the internet might not be as aware as someone who has been on the internet for some time now. Some people no matter what age could believe a telephone call like that.

I needed to contact the IRS when filling out my son's taxes and they have a phone message right there that any call you might get that says they are the IRS is a scam because they will not call you nor will they ask for any money from you in a call or letter. The only way to make sure you're talking to the IRS is to call them yourself.

There are really so many scammers these days. Even some have their ID pictures posted at social media sites that were used by these people in their scamming activities. So I became paranoid and removed my photos from there.

You are correct as I know someone who that happened to, she met someone on line and was sent a photo but later found out it was not a photo of that person.

Thank you for posting this! There are tons of IRS scams going around here. They usually threaten you with false warrants etc. Also! Its important to call the IRS (or email them at "phishing@irs.gov") with all the info - the phone number who called, what they said, etc. I wish the IRS would put out some bulletin on this so the knowledge of this scam would be more widespread.
