why are most people afraid of marriage

please i need your view why most people afraid of marriage, to some they don't want kids around them but to some they are not ready, others are finance but i need your view using urself or someone else. to me am still young.

I guess they are not afraid. Perhaps they are not ready to be in a marriage degree.

but some are not ready until their 40s , and it always a hard decision to take why coz after this am planning my own.

I am not afraid to get married. Although I am still not married to my 10 year bf. Being in a relationship for that long should have been into marriage now but we aren't. Why? It's because we are not yet prepared to get into something that we are not certain if we are really ready. Raising kids and the life of being married is never and easy task. We just wanted to be prepared financially, emotionally and stability wise.

10 yrs is too long for some people they prefer few weeks to long time

Really, I don't feel so, not in my country at least. Everyone in this country ges married at least once and some even take a second chance if the need be so.

Maybe they're not afraid of marriage but they are afraid of the responsibilities of a married life. Or maybe they are not ready yet.

People are afraid of marriage because it sometimes restricts freedoms ..you have greater expectations from your spouse and vice - versa . People are afraid to be hurt and thus prefer being single
