Dickens Likes a Beer!

Chatting with the doorman at Rules Restaurant, he told me of a nearby pub that Charles Dickens would visit, the Bull's head. One problem is that the original Bull's Head is gone having been rebuilt in 1897, nearly 30 years after Dickens death, and named for local lass, Nell Gwynne. Not a big pub and delightfully dark, with a strong Victorian atmosphere; and the beer wasn't bad, either! More pictures of the Nell Gwynne on Flickr
