Don't believe everything on the Internet about Investing

I just read an article about investing which said that retires should not invest using the strategy of buy and hold. That my be true for some people but I think it really depends on the person. Not only am I a retiree but I was unemployed for over twenty years before I was eligible to draw retirement. If I had followed just that advice, I would be considerably worse off financially now than I am. I did use a mixed strategy but most of my success has been buy and hold and most of my loses have been the opposite of that although I did get some income in the later but, also, had some huge loses in the value of the investments sometimes.

We can't always follow the advice of online market places. We have to decide what's best for us. It seems you made a decision that panned out for you.

I dont understand the deal with investing online. And there are so many scams out there so I choose to ignore it.
