It Was all Just a Dream

Slept pretty good last night. I woke at 7:30 today. Friday is my day off from work. Yay!
As I walked down the hallway, making my way to the kitchen, I remembered the dream I had. I drove to North Carolina to surprise my grandson on his 15th birthday, which is today.
His stepmother answered the door and was quite surprised to see me. She gave me a hug. Troy's father gave me a hug as well. When Troy saw me, he was speechless. I walked toward him with my arms wide open.
He was taller than me, as I expected he would be. I wrapped my arms around him and held him tight. He said, "You drove all this way to see me?" The surprised look on his face and in his voice told me he was delighted to have me there. I told him I just wanted to see him if only for a moment. I had to leave and drive back home because I had to work this weekend. I said, "Happy birthday, I love you so much."
And then I woke.

I heard once that Native Americans think dream life is actually the real life. It certainly feels real! Funny, I just bought a dream book from the library discards. I can't wait to dive in! I rarely remember mine though.

I usually only remember the dreams I have just before I wake. If I have dreamed in the middle of the night I don't recall any of them.

@Marty1 I agree with @Jeanniemaries comment, you should stop drinking so much in the evening.

Aw your wishes came true in your lovely dream my friend.
Isnt it something the way our desires, our deep feelings come to the fore in our dreams, if only in our dreams. I wish you could really go there.

I could feel the warmth of his arms around me. What a loving embrace. I didn't want to let go. It was way too real. Makes me want to weep.

Breaks my heart to not have any contact with him other than an occasional phone call.

@Marty1 his father and stepfather keep tight reigns on him so until he turns 18 I doubt that will happen.

That would take some time to go there and back definitely more than one day.

He is very much alive and well. It is at least a 13 hour drive to where he lives. Haven't been able to make the journey to see him.

@ElusiveButterfly That's a long time. I haven't seen my youngest grandson for three years, but we sometimes skype, so I get to see him that way.
