My boyfriend and I just bought a brand new 2 up ATV and this weekend will be our first time riding it. I've ridden a couple of 1 ups before, but only as a passenger. He's been riding them for years, so he's going to teach me how to drive it. I can hardly wait and this time tomorrow we'll be on the trails! Have you ever ridden on or driven one and how did you like it?

Holeshot! - In racing, whoever has the lead off the starting line has the "holeshot". This is a picture of my husband with the holeshot at a race in Budds Creek, Maryland.
I have ridden one as a passenger on the back, mostly. I don't like to do this because you're not supposed to ride two to a bike on most quads. I've driven one by myself a few times. One time, I tipped it over and that was not fun. The other riding sessions went OK. I like it better than a dirtbike, that's for sure. I like having all 4 wheels on the ground. My husband rides all the time and even races ATV's. He's real good at it.

OK, I know this will sound lame, but what is a 2 up? Do you mean like a Rhino or other side-by-side or is it an ATV with a seat for two? I've driven the side-by-side Rhino, which is like driving a small jeep, and I've ridden a few different ATVs. I like the ATVs best, and love my 4x4 Wolverine!

Yes, a 2 up is an ATV with a second seat behind the driver. It has a back support for the passenger and is a few inches higher so that you can see over the driver. I love sitting back and enjoying the scenery while someone else drives...LOL

Put your hands on the handlebars, grab the throttle, and you will really enjoy the ride! I know what you mean about sitting back and soaking in the scenery, I always rode on the back of motorcycles, but I think given the chance now, I would want to be in front. There's nothing like it! You should try it sometime. 4-wheelers are much easier than bikes, too. I've tried a dirt bike, so I know. It's so much fun, tho, to let go and just do it!

When I was a kid, we used to drive them all the time. I grew up up north (U.s.) and during the winter, we would pull sleds behind it, it was great! SOme of my favorite memeories as a kid are of driving them, also snowmobiles and then when we got older, we used dirt bikes, those are alot of fun too (a little bit more difficult though)! Have fun! Here's a tip, if it's windy, wear some kind of glasses/goggles, they tend to kick up a lot of dirt!

ATV's are so much fun. Just keep safety in mind and don't get all crazy on them. lol. Some people need to show off and think they can do more than they can. They can turn over and land on people injuring them. That said, I own a motorcycle also and love it. I was raised on motorcycles. By the time I could sit up, my parents had me on back of a motorcycle. I rode behind mom and my brother rode w/ my dad. We did all vacations on them and camped out. I believe this is one reason that my family is so close. Enjoy it, and be safe.
