From the iPod #21 - "End of the World"

Irish guitar hero Gary Moore (1952 - 2011,) had a successful career, whether as a member of Thin Lizzy, a hard-rocking metal axe slinger, or as a bluesman. Unfortunately, while quite popular in Europe, Moore had what amounts to a cult following here in the States.
No matter which incarnation of his career, his guitar play was stellar - he could shred with the best of them, especially during his metal/hard rock period.
Case in point: one of Moore's best protest songs (and he wrote a lot of them,) was "End of the World," the highlight of his album Corridors of Power.
"End of the World" opens that album, complete with one of my all-time favorite guitar solo's (at the beginning of the song, no less,) and with the late Jack Bruce on vocals.
My iPod, contains a live version of the tune, so I've linked a fantastic live video for proof of Gary Moore's guitar prowess, which I am glad I got to see live before he died:

@Ronrybs - "Parisienne Walkways," "Shapes of Things," and "Murder in the Skies" are good ones to look for.

He should rank #1. Sadly, he was very underappreciated.

I got to see Thin Lizzy in 1978 as part of my second-ever rock concert. They were far and away the best thing on the bill that day (it was a festival, and other acts were REO Speedwagon [they were good, but not at Thin Lizzy's level], Steve Miller [who I had seen five weeks earlier with the Eagles, and he was as bad this day as he was good when I saw him with the Eagles], and Foreigner [who I didn't stay for because I've never cared for them ]), and Gary Moore was back with them at that time (he left again in early 1979). I'm so happy I got to see them. They were, and still are, one of the most grotesquely underrated bands in U.S. rock history. They should've been mega-superstars here instead of "one-hit wonders" for "The Boys are Back in Town."
But how do I really feel?
