Back on 3-15-16 the roomie lost her hamster, Diego. http://www.mylot.com/post/2904070/rip-diego-de-la-hamster-3-15-16 She went out and pick up this little cutie, but wanted to let her great-nephew to have a chance of naming him. He suggested either "Tiny" or "Spike." Spike it is. So, please, I'd like all of y'all to meet Spike.

He's still pretty jumpy, but he's young and not been handled much.

@TiarasOceanView he does seem to be a bit smaller than Diego, but Diego was a good sized hamster even when we got her.

Such a cutie. I had hamsters all growing up. Don't really have the patience for them now. But they are still wonderful pets.

I'm not a rodent fan - snake food is what I call them, but he's the roomie's rodent.

G'day young Spike. That's a great name you have and you are very cute. So that's what a hamster looks like, nothing like a guinea pig at all.

well, the long haired ones kind of resemble the long haired guinea pigs, but they are a whole lot smaller, a hamster fits in your hand, a guinea pig is about twice as long and heavier built.
