Agh! I am addicted to chapstick or lip balm and literally apply it every few hours. I do believe themore you use it the more you need it. Someone once told me there are drying agents in chapstick, making you need it even more. I totally believe it. The Chapstick Conspiracy! Do you know of any home remedies or solutions for this? I realize I am far too dependent on this stuff. Do you have the same problem?

Vitamin E, Coconut oil, and of course water to stay extra hydrated. I love using the peppermint chapstick though its my addiction.

Do you have Burts Bees? They make a minty one and its amazing. I have heard lf the coconut oil but what about the Vitamin E? Do you take a supplement for the vitamin or just buy the oil??

@maezee I just have the Vitamin E oil because I find it more useful then just the supplement. Yeah I have a few Burts Bees I like them but my favorite is the Peppermint one from the brand chapstick. I usually stock up on it around Christmas time when they put a bunch out.

Vitamin E works well for lip balm and it lasts longer than most of the stuff out there. I have the same problem in the winter.

Nice. Do you just keep a bottle of vitamin e oil handy?

@maezee The capsules are easiest to use. I just bite the corner of one and squeeze it all onto my finger and rub in onto my lips. They have virtually no taste.

I have heard the same thing. My mother told me this when I was young. I don't use it very often maybe a few times a week... or if they get very dry. I know a girl on facebook who was using EOS brand and her lips got all swollen and red and sore. Pretty much the exact opposite of what it is supposed to do. My daughter and I have never had any problems with them but like I said we don't use them very often.

I have not heard of Eos but I will certainly avoid it now. Just wish I could use something to make my lips less dry. I have heard of using coconut oil as chapstick but I have tried it and it leaves a grainy gross feeling. Lol

Depends on the climate you really do not need to use it that much, and seeing that you know you are already over using it best you keep aware of your uses and restrick youself to only 2 applications a day.

My lips dry out like the desert, so if I'm not wearing lipstick, I'm wearing lip balm. I always wear something when I go to bed, but it can't be greasy, or it will ruin my pillows.

Use butter/coconut butter/olive oil/palm oil/honey instead.
