At last I discovered a good dentist!

Good dentists where I live are not easy to come by. They are not always good and they charge too much. So it is a difficult decision to open our mouths in front of any of them. Usually, when we discover that they are not doing what they should, we would have to rob a Bank to pay them. In my country there is no such a thing as dental health insurance so either we get rich or we cross our fingers so that nothing will happen to our teeth. I had very good teeth until I had my chemo. Truth is, I´m here and the CA is in remission. But there were many side affects and teeth problems started. I saw maybe 3 or 4 dentists twice or three times and each time I felt that they knew little what I had. I put my finger in a place that hurt and they would start by the other side of the mouth. And the cost was worse than if they had offered a set of gold teeth. This doctor is different. He charges less, he accepts installments (who can be as rich as to pay it all at once?) and he listens what I feel. After all, it is my mouth. Two years ago, another dentist sent me to take X-ray pictures of all my teeth. <the cost of it all was about $120. This doctor wanted the same and sent me to a place that charged me $50. He has already finished part of the most urgent job and I feel better than in a long time. Are dentists expensive where you live? Do you have problems with them?

When you say 'doctor' are you referring to the dentist? Whatever, I'm glad he's doing you some good.

Yes, I did. Here most of the people call the dentists "doctor". I was not aware that it might not be so elsewhere.

@jaboUK In fact, the name doctor comes from a grade, that is, doctor in medicine as there are also doctors in philosophy.

@marguicha Doctors and dentists are completely different things in the UK, that's why I was confused.

I was lucky. My dentist is my father. That makes it easy. When he retires I suppose I can go to my cousin, who works in the same office now.

@marguicha Getting my father to take a break from working is really difficult though. I have been trying to get him to adopt a 4 week schedule. He's going to be 70 next year, I think it would do him some good to slow up a little.

That was a great find for you. I get reimbursed for my medical expenses and that includes dental care as well. I have a dentist since long who has taken care of my teeth pretty well. I have lost a few but have no plans to replace them as they will never be strong making biting a cautious activity.

In my country there is no insurance that includes dental care. That makes dental health a big problem if you don´t have the money.

I don't know why but from the childhood I.hated to visit Dentist. I was of belief that they are evils and makes you hurt so I never showed up to any Dentist and just maintained my teeth as good as possible to avoid a Dentist..!!
