Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Tom Silverstein reported the news on Monday the Green Bay Packers have no intention of signing to a new contract current free agent wide receiver James Jones. Jones, 31, will be able to seek employment with another team in the National Football League that will be needing his services before the start of the 2016 football season. Since Jones is 31 years of age, it will be difficult for him to find employment with another team in the league since he is considered past his prime to be a top line wide receiver. Jones was a third round draft choice of the Green Bay Packers in the 2007 National Football League Draft out of San Jose State University. Jones played for the Packers from 2007-2013-2015 and one season with the Oakland Raiders in 2014. Jordy Nelson who is 30 years of age is the only wide receiver on the Packers roster who is older than 25 years of age. If Jones does sign a contract with another team in the National Football League he will likely be trying out to make that team during training camp in 2016. The other option that Jones will have is to retire if there is not another football team that is interested in hiring him.

Aha! I knew he played for the Raiders. I rarely get to watch them so I have to follow them through the SF Gate. But I can't remember if he helped the team in any way, shape, or form. Since he only played a year, I'm thinking not.

I am sure that James will be likely a fourth wide receiver for any team that hires him if at all since he is not in his prime anymore.
