Does all writer start write because of a hobby?

I just read an article about "being a good writer". The article says that being a good writer should be started by hobby for writing. I do not agree totally. I suppose that writing is a skill that can be built by practice. Everyone can be a writer as long as they have willing to upgrade their ability by doing some practices. What do you think about this? Please you share here. Thank you.

It is good to start as a hobby. Though it's not my hobby before, I practiced writing and it became a hobby now.

Agree with you friend. Being a good writer can be started by practice. If you enjoy, it can be a hobby. Beside writing as a hobby, do you write for money?
