what explanation do you find for cruelty towards animals?

I don't think there's any logical explanation for such acts. people who do this are obviously disturbed. I recently read about a poor dog that got hit by a bus and lost two of his legs: one in the front and one in the back. the sad thing is that he was left there struggling until one decent person took him to the vet where he was treated and now he is doing well.
how can you be so cruel? this is one of the reasons why I'm scared to drive: I'm afraid that I might hit an animal. but anyway even if this would happen I wouldn't leave him to die: the most decent behavior is to take him to the vet

@swissheart Yes, I do think that they could do it humans as well. If they're able to do it to animals, there's nothing to stop them from doing it to humans. Honestly, they do deserve to be punished. I'm not sure what they'd deserve, but they should be punished for it.

but don';t you think that people who do that to animals are capable of doing it to humans too? what kind of punishment do they deserve? it breaks my heart to know that in my country there's no animal police and such people go un-punished

@swissheart If they can do it to animals they definitely can do it to humans. That kind of violent behaviour must be stopped.

Sometimes I have seen where cruel, evil people deliberately run over an animal @swissheart ; they think it's funny. Those are the people I'd personally like to beat up.

I don't know why some people can be so cruelty. Perhaps in the reality they are the people who are weak and are ignored by others. They want to get some attention or they want to show how powerful they are. And this is why they abuse the animals. Or actually these people have some mental problems.

it's not the weak ones that abuse animals. I've seen cases of street beggars for example that own dogs and they share their food with their pets or sometimes they feed their animals and they would starve

Some people think animals dont have feelings. They dont care about their well being because they feel superior. While other people gew up with a family that is cruel to animals.

The only explaination is that person is a psycho and likes inflicting pain. I always find it sick how people would hurt and animal. Those guys can't even speak for themselves. We are supposed to be their stewards and their voice. People who hurt animals in purpose have no hearts

@swissheart This is true. I've seen this a thousand times. Like how even two opposing and naturally prey-predator relationship turns into unlikely friendships. Sometimes I feel like animals have more humanity in them. When I see greedy and shrewd people.
