A J Cassavell reported the news of his Twitter account on Thursday the San Diego Padres have released right handed relief pitcher Casey Janssen.
Janssen who started his career in the Major Leagues with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2006 pitched for the Blue Jays from 2006-2007, and 2009-2014.
Janssen pitched one season for the Washington Nationals in 2015. Janssen pitched in 48 games as a relief pitcher for the Nationals finishing the season with two wins and five losses with an earned run average of 4.95.
The Nationals decided not to pick up his option to pitch for their team to avoid paying him his salary of $7 million dollars.
The Padres signed Janssen to a minor league contract on February 20, 2016. Janssen pitched in seven innings for the Padres during the Spring training sessions giving up four runs in seven innings pitched.
It remains to be seen if any team in the Major Leagues are interested in signing Janssen to a minor league contract before the start of the 2016 baseball season or has Janssen pitched his last game in the Major Leagues.

I'm sure the Rockies have already called his agent.

It is possible that Janssen could join the Rockies as one of their relief pitchers in 2016.

@Deepizzaguy - He's a reliever that serves up runs, it sounds like. He'll fit right into our bullpen.

He may indeed be at the end of the line if he can't sign on with the Padres who aren't exactly pitching rich.

You could be right since his performance during Spring training was nothing to write home about.
