My Starbuck's coffee was drippin from the lid so ...

I used a napkin to keep it from dripping down on my sleeves. I finally had enough. Walking back to the Starbucks, waiting until it was my turn to be waited on. I asked the barista, a different one than the one who waited on me earlier, and showed the streak of coffee coming from the lid. I asked, "Can I please have another cup?" She replied, "I guess." I then added, "While your at it, I also need a new lid." I went around to pour the coffee into the second cup and placed the lid on it. No problem now. But what was the real problem was the barista saying, "I guess." I could have showed her my Starbucks gold card but why bother. To her I was just some Joe who was asking for a special favor that I didn't deserve. Being made to feel as if it is too much to ask for a paper cup and a lid that doesn't leak off the top every time you tip it to take a sip makes for bad customer service in my opinion. Would you expect to drink from a cup that leaked all over your clothes? I think not!

No, and I would find a different Starbucks to patronize in the future. She has a lot to learn about good customer service.

I have experienced this at more than one Starbucks. They seem to hire school kids mostly instead of real mature and experienced baristas.

@lookatdesktop Then they should train them in courtesy and good customer service. They will not know how to treat customers if they aren't trained. Though good common sense, lacking in a lot of people, would go a long way to offering good customer service.

What rotten customer service! They should treat everyone well, not just based on what color their card is. You didn't deserve to be leaked all over or given attitude. ugh

I agree with you and hope I have a better experience the next time I go order a salted caramel mocha.

@lookatdesktop me, too! The Starbucks that I go to (inside our Target store) is wonderful. They are polite and courteous and very careful with the hot drinks. The people are the main reason I even go in there. I hope you find people like that the next time you go! :)

Just bad customer service, probably a previous customer treated her badly but still not professional,

I have heard of some the things baristas do when a customer is rude to them and they do some things that I will just not mention here because I wish to be polite.

No they should have gave you another lid and told you to have a nice day to keep your business.

She was new. I asked not only for a new cup but for a new lid. I even showed her the coffee drip that was made by the leaky lid. This has happened many different times and in my opinion their cups and lids are cheaply made. They could stand a do over.

It makes me sometimes feel like not even bothering with asking for a new cup but just drink the one that drips all over my shirt. But then again if the customer is never right, then you end up having no more customers.
