Anniversary Trip to San Diego

For our first anniversary, my husband and I took a trip to San Diego. It’s about 90 minutes from where we live. We stayed in a hotel near a marina and had perfect weather. The first day we went to different museums and took silly pictures of each other. The second day we went to the San Diego Zoo and walked our feet off. I tried to take a picture of my husband with an elephant in the background. It was a perfect shot, nicely framed and with good lighting. The only problem was the elephant, as elephants do, chose that moment to answer the call of nature. My husband couldn’t understand at first why I was laughing so hard. The picture I’ve uploaded here is one of my better ones. Alas! MyLot insists on loading it upside down... There are three polar bears at the San Diego Zoo. They don’t feed them enough calories to let them get their full blubber because they’d overheat in the climate. Part of me thinks that a little sad.

Thanks for you well-wishes. One of the guides said the bull elephants can leave up to three hundred pounds of what the elephant was dropping while my dearly beloved smiled at the camera. I was laughed too hard to get the shot. When I explained it to him, he said it would have been something to hang in the living room. He wasn't serious, of course.

I think it's sad too - they shouldn't really be in captivity should they? I must admit I coiuldn't make out what your picture was until I realised it was upside down.

@msiduri That's fair enough then. They don't suffer if they've never known anything else.

@jaboUK That's what I think. Still, I can't help feeling a little sad.

The zookeepers said that they've been raised in captivity and wouldn't survive in the wild.

That's exactly what I keep asking myself. How can it be one year already? Thanks for your well-wishes. I'll have to post a couple of the goofy one I took, too.
