I went to facebook and they told me I had to change my password

So I clicked on the link to change it and it worked. It seems someone running Firefox who lives in South-West Texas tried to access my facebook account around noon today so I acted promptly.
I also received an e-mail notification from facebook security. Actually that is where I got the message about the location of the alleged hacker. Lately facebook has asked several times if I wanted to include a number for my mobile phone to give me added network security at that site but I don't want to add it. I also had to remove my other number because they had it listed as a cell phone no. not a land line number. Hardly anyone has a land line any more.
I am currently trying to finish doing a complete system scan on my PC. Wish me luck.

Those hackers take all the fun out of it. I am happy they informed me about it quickly.

@lookatdesktop Yes if they get into any of your sites, they can quite possibly get into any financial stuff..it is a terrible worry for sure Anthony.

I have seen too many of my friends accounts hacked and the hackers then send out friend requests. What is the reasoning behind it. I am puzzled.

If the hacker is engaged in spreading a virus then sending out friend requests is part of their strategy I suppose.

@ElusiveButterfly I have wondered about this from the very moment I got a notification. It requires a bit more research.

I have been here for a while, mainly reading other people's posts. It cures boredom and sometimes I learn a few things. Hanging in there like the rest. Good to see you too.

I know I wouldn't be safe without security at that site and my computer security. If not for cyber security we would all be in over our heads with hackers.
