Congratulations! You are pregnant and it is going to be a wonderful trip until delivery. One question many women have is whether or not they are able to exercise when they are pregnant. Some women fear that any strenuous exercise will harm to the baby. This article will help to shed light on this subject. Traditional wisdom is that while pregnant, a woman is able to do pretty much anything she was doing before becoming pregnant in regards to exercise. If you ran 5 miles a day, you will be able to do that. Of course towards the end, it may become uncomfortable to do so. It is important to continue to workout during pregnancy because not only is it a benefit to you, but also to your baby as well. Beside the benefits of working your muscles and feeling great, it is beneficial to stay active and keep as much of your muscle tone as possible. You do not want to become a lazy slob! This will make pregnancy harder as well as making the delivery and recovery hard as well. During your monthly and weekly checkups, you can ask your doctor if what you are doing for exercise is ok. Most likely they will say that it is, and tell you to continue to workout. As your pregnancy develops, you will get bigger and gain weight. Regular exercise will help to keep things in check so to speak. You will gain baby weight, but you will limit the amount of weight you gain in the rest of your body. How else do you think all the Hollywood stars are able to look so good during their pregnancy’s and look great within a few weeks after delivery? They workout during the pregnancy, recover quickly and then get back to it. Another benefit of working out during pregnancy is that you can help to reduce many of the common aches and pains associated with pregnancy. Back aches are common because of weak muscles in the low back and abs. By working out regularly, you will maintain your strength and help to prevent backache. Your heart rate and blood pressure will remain healthy and you will help to prevent conditions such as pre-eclampsia and hypertension caused by pregnancy. These tips along with a sound diet will help ensure a health pregnancy and a swift recovery after delivery. So there you have it. Working out while being pregnant is helpful in may ways to boost energy and strength, and can make not on your pregnancy easier, but also delivery and recovery.

Although I'm well past the age for getting pregnant, this is definitely some wise and helpful advice to those who are or will get pregnant.

It really is important to stay fit. Not only is it good for the baby, but it makes delivery easier and getting back into shape after delivery easier.

I think it's very important to exercise so that the body can keep up with all the things that happen during pregnancy (not that I would know, but observing other people I think so!)
