Finding something that's lost!

I'm so tired of being unorganized in this house. Moving is teaching me so many life lessons and I'm making copious notes so that once I'm sitting all alone in the new apartment, I won't avoid getting organized once and for all. And that little show I wrote about a while back called, "neat" helped me today enormously. Well, for the future. Not for finding what I lost. I've been wanting to measure my furniture to make sure it will all fit in the apartment. However, I could not find my measuring tape to save my life! I had it not too long ago. I suspect I've packed it away for the apartment! lol So, tonight I unpacked a very large box that held a heater. I bought it during the winter, thinking I might need it in the apartment. It heats the room 6 degrees higher and it even has the look of glowing logs in a fireplace. It's very cool. Well, I really should not need it in the apartment since I have my own thermostat and I'm not paying for heat or electricity. I tried selling it, and actually got no interest. So tonight I took it out of the box, thinking I can use this large box for my clothes. I learned very quickly that I needed to put the legs on this heater. But I didn't know where my screwdrivers were! I went into the kitchen and began looking in drawers. Well, lo and behold! There was the measuring tape! And then, yes! I found a screwdriver that worked perfectly. In my apartment, there will be a box in one of my smaller closets labeled "tools". On today's episode of "neat", she did talk about how to keep craft items separated and labeled, and she did mention needing a box labeled, "tools". Well, that will definitely work for these things, plus scissors and packing tape, etc. I won't have to dig through much to find what I want. So, on those cooler evenings when I have windows open, I can fire up the heater and have one of those nights that feels like I'm outside with a fire pit! And this is small enough to fit anywhere. I'm good to go. -Claudia-

Thanks! A few things have worked out very well and I'm glad to have about 80% of the move settled. :)

this is normal when we just moved in and still trying to familiarize where is everything. i normally organize things non stop for 2 days. i prefer doing it all by myself, although its tiring, so i'll know where to look.

That's what I'll be doing. Labels and bins for things so I will automatically know where to look for things. If I start losing things in 2 rooms, I'll need to just give up! lol

It's wonderful. It's very pretty and gives off nice heat. And it looks like a fireplace so it's perfect for a little apartment :)

It won't take as long to unpack as it has to pack. The biggest problem I will have unpacking is to find the perfect place for everything. I look forward to that. :D

I need to be more organized than what I am. We also have a heater like what you described, It comes in handy on cold winter days. Have a blessed evening.

The great thing about organization is that we can always get better than where we are now. :D
