Ghostly Adverts

While ambling through Stoke Newington, I found this shop with an example of a 'ghostsign'.
The shop is a florists, but at one time they repaired 'fount' pens here and were specialists in Waterman pens.
There was a stationary shop here dating from the 1890s, but I haven't been able to find out much more, except they repair any make of pen. I am guessing once biros became popular they went out of business.
On the side of the building is an advert for Westminster Criterion matches.
On the right of the florists is the Golden Dragon Fish & Chip Shop, which makes me think they do Chinese food as well!

mm tasty. I remember the Chinese chips were big chunks golden and tasty over there Ron.
I love that they still have the old ghost signs there..awesome!
Hope you had a bite to eat there then.

Ghostsigns can be found on old buildings here in the US. Old stores names and soda brands. Sometime they have been preserved which adds to old downtown preservations.
