New natural fuel will make OPEC cry the blues but is it good for global warming?

So, sand has become a commodity. That's strange. Very unusual. They use sand to make micro chips and it's in abundance so why not use it to make energy. If they can pull this off my hat's off to them. refer to the following URL: additional articles similar to this one: http://www.ibtimes.com/goodbye-oil-us-navy-cracks-new-renewable-energy-technology-turn-seawater-fuel-1568455 http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/scientists-predict-green-energy-revolution-after-incredible-new-graphene-discoveries-9885425.html Wow. It seems like just yesterday when the big thing in new energy was solar and wind power and do you remember when they hired people to work at solar energy plants? Even the idea of making ethanol from sugar or corn seems really cool but I believe sugar and corn can best be reserved to be produced as a food source and let them make energy from sand which just sets there for billions of years already.
How a Nobel Prize winner's game-changing discovery will soon make oil obsolete by unlocking unlimited free energy through solar power.

@lookatdesktop The main link that mylot made active in your post was not helpful. On reading one of the other urls you cite, some of it begins to make sense, and sounds plausible:
A recently discovered form of carbon graphite – the material in pencil lead – has turned out to have a completely unexpected property which could revolutionise the development of green energy and electric cars.
