Almost every holiday such Easter, Christmas Eve and New Year Eve, you will find many noisy neighborhood around your house. If you don't have one, you should really thank God for that. There are some people who just love to make lots of noisy to show that they are celebrating something and in fact, it is quite disturbing especially when it is during the late night time. Some people are just so selfish and not considerate to others during those seasons. I think many people did call police for that instead of dealing the problem by themselves. However, it may affect the harmony of the neighborhood relationship then if you do so. But if you don't want to voice up, you are the one who will suffer for all this trouble. What will the best way to deal with this issue ? Share your opinion with us ?

You could mention it to you neighbor. It may not work, but it's worth a try.

calling the police is the best choice I think. you don't have to confront anyone yourself and multiple calls will keep them aware they can be in trouble if they make too much noise. I live in a neighborhood with a lot of college kids that make noise late on Friday thru Sunday at al hours

First of all you should never call the police unless you are okay with someone being shot or beaten. If you pay any attention to what is going on you will realize how dangerous the police are. Since you can not control other people you need to focus on what you can do to protect yourself from noise. Don't buy a home with shoddy construction that does little to absorb noise. Invest in additional sound deadening. Play music or white noise to drown out the unwanted noise.

I have never really had that problem. Neighbors occasionally have a wedding or some other kind of party, but in general they are pretty quiet. The one exception is the neighbors next door. They have a teen-aged son. He does play loud music and race his engine in the driveway. Usually it's not late at night though, and the neighbors put up with us when our kids were teenagers. I guess it's our turn.

In India we celebrate every other festival.... there is a festival or two every monthly.. most of the festivals are celebrated very noisily... and if not festivals then there is somebody getting married in the neighborhood so its more or less noisy all the time... i am kind of accustomed to it now... moreover i do enjoy it at times....at times if a certain house party really disturbs me i just walk over and request them to keep it down and they do keep it down after that...
