Did you hear the story on the news about the house that was wrongly demolished? Turns out that the demolition team used Google Map’s directions and demolished the wrong house. Luckily, no one was home. However, this poor lady now has no home. Her home had survived a previous tornado and she was waiting on insurance estimates to have this damage repaired. There is pending litigation against Google Maps. However, I think this will be unsuccessful. Ultimately, the demolition company is legally liable to guarantee it is demolishing the right house. I am going to try to include a link to the story. We’ll see if it works!

I can't believe they are suing. Can't they read a street sign? I bet @theblock was involved.

LOL! Yes, originally I thought this was a joint effort by you two. Are you sure you don't own a demolition company? @RussTeed? Hmm??

This is the first I have heard of it. Nothing surprises me lately. Sad that this woman's home was wrecked due to the negligence of the wrecking company. The company should be held responsible for the damage.

"Dude, where's my house?" Kidding. That's sad. That happens when you rely on technology too much.

Yes it works fine my friend. Isn´t this awful? That company surely can be sued for this? I mean really to me there is no excuse for this kind of mistake.

Yes, it is awful! If the demolition company is smart, they will do the right thing and compensate the victim. Having this dragged through court doesn't nothing good for the company.

That's unbelievable. The demolition company are still lucky that they're only liable for damage to property. On a different day someone could have been seriously injured or even killed, and they could have been in a lot worse trouble. And I love the line at the end saying that "no one from the demolition company had apologized for the mistake". That's just adding insult to injury.

@jahunt She deserves a lot more than she lost for all the trauma they've put her through.

It is truly unbelievable. I hope she will receive restoration. I can't help but imagine the horror she must have felt upon learning what happened!
