Just read this article on listverse. Sometimes I wonder about the validity of the listverse articles but either way they are good fun to read.
A few of the parlor games mentioned on the list have been adapted for more modern game play.
The mitten game I've heard of, the game involving writing down guesses of who is wearing which number (they were camoflauged in bags)... Even the one involving crates is familiar (musical chairs)
Would you play any of the games listed on this site?
Did you ever stop to wonder what people did to entertain themselves at parties with friends before stereos, TVs, and the Internet? Party Fun: Wholesome Gam

All inside of the house? Most of the ones from the late 1800's and early 1900's were inside. Atleast according to the article I read.

@destimona We really don't get together and play games here anymore. I mean, some people do, but usually it's just watching t.v. or playing video games. Nothing like parlor games or board / card games.

No television to watch, only the radio programs and even so those weren't all day. The poor things the guests were put through sometimes though!
