Staying away from facebook makes me more productive

After a long time being addicted in facebook, I finally decided to limit myself using it. Although I love seeing updates from my relatives, classmates, friends and colleagues, I somehow find myself giving more of my time scrolling, liking, sharing and commenting on their post. When my friends will post something about an event or about their day, I feel like I wanted to do same. However, I think that by doing so, I make myself so open in public which is not good. I also found myself neglecting my tasks just because of being busy with facebook.

Yes, it is true. I think it is better to keep our personal lives in private especially if we do not want to be the center of gossips. I am happy that I decided to use internet to earn and I am glad I to be here again in mylot.

@annierose In modern world, this is main source of cyber bullying. Things got out of hand because of extreme ways of destroying others lives.

@Shavkat That is true. Even lets say Facebook will not allow those who are under 18 to join, still these kids can fool about their age. I have been seeing lots of photos which are not decent especially for kids. Somehow, I agree with China blocking the use of facebook in their country.

That was what I did before, I unfollowed people who keep on ranting in the social network sites because somehow I got upset too. I feel better after that.

You made the right choice. I started with Facebook in 2007 when it wasn't that popular in the Philippines yet and it wasn't as updated as now. It was on the beta phase but we were already having fun. I got addicted to it in 2008 when the all knew Facebook started to include games. Then i realised I shouldn't be posting just anything and everything over there. So i quit using Facebook for two years. When I came back, I used it as a portal for my business lol!

My boyfriend was the one who influenced me to stop posting on facebook. He said it is not good sharing personal information on social network sites. Bad people like robbers or hackers can use it against me especially if they know I have money online.

Facebook isn't a good addiction to have-not like MyLot! =) I don't like FB much, I only use it for my childcare service.

I agree with you. It is just wasting time posting there and its not practical too. Furthermore it is not safe. So it is better not to be controlled by Facebook.

Yes, I can see that as an advantage. It was very helpful with me before when I had my online business. However, since I don't have a blog nor an online business, I don't have anything to promote in facebook. By the way, I could not send you a message. I want to ask more about Bitlanders.

If you feel its good for you to be away from FB, then go on. Its up to your attitude.

Thanks destimona. We have our freedom to do anything that we want. Balancing things in mind, I found out that facebook somehow controls me rather than I as the one controlling my use of facebook. I still use it but for some specific reason only.
