Just try to HAVE IT YOUR WAY at fast food!

Ever think about the salt they put on those fries or onion rings? Well have ya, dude? It's a problem. And I saw them shaking the salt on the fries when they put them in the bin for scooping after removing them from the hot scalding grease pit. It seems you will not be having salt-free fries any time at fast food. If you go to some restaurants I am sure you can ask to not have salt on your fires but is that really any big deal when in fact it's the fries themselves that are the problem? To make matters worse, they place salt and pepper shakers at every table to make you think, "Oh, I need to add salt and pepper to my fries and burger and my salad." But no. You don't really. At Long John Silver's sea food shop, We ordered our 2 piece fish with fries and slaw and headed to our tables and the lady brought our food to us. We went to the condiment stand and there they were, tiny 1.5 oz. paper cups that held about a tablespoon if you're lucky of either ketchup, tarter sauce or seafood sauce. Now how am I going to dip my long French fry in that tiny container of Ketchup? They provide you with the pump and the tiny paper cups and they have that nice vinegar sauce you pour lightly on your fish and they have salt and pepper shakers at the tables but nowhere on earth do I find a bottle of Ketchup! If you say to Jack Sprat you want no onion on the burger, better watch out. he may not be listening. Do you actually get what you order? Do you even dare ask them to let you HAVE IT YOUR WAY? or do you do it death by sandwich, grab bag style?

I have actually asked for fries without salt for one of my clients. I thought that the order was going to be denied. However, they asked that I drive around to the front of the store because they had to prepare the order. They cooked the fries and brought them out. No salt. I have also asked to have no barbeque sauce with the Rodeo Chicken Burger, which has barbeque sauce. Both orders were at Burger King, where I guess you truly can "Have it Your Way!"

You did have it your way and this is what it is all about. But then the Burger King in Dallas, Texas took a friend's order for bacon cheeseburgers with fries and Dr. Pepper. The burgers did not have cheese or bacon on them but he was in fact charged for them. I guess his Burger King was more of a Franchise that did it their way instead of your way!

@lookatdesktop more like they forgot to to it his way. LOL. My husband always orders burgers without pickles. The last time he got pickles on them he parked the truck, went inside and tossed the burgers on the counter, and asked to have what he ordered and not to take the burgers back and take the pickles off and reserve them. He got new burgers.

I rarely have a problem when I order the food my way at a fast food restaurant. Then again, about the only thing I eat from a fast food restaurant is the breakfast sandwich I have on my way to work every morning and it is always the same thing and straight off the menu. So maybe I'm not in the best position to judge.

@lookatdesktop I do have something different on the weekends or my days off. But for something I can eat between the restaurant and the school house, this breakfast sandwich is the perfect size and I enjoy the flavor.

@DWDavis I have some things I order regularly for instance, at jack in the box I have the basic 2 for a dollar tacos and at taco bell I have the usual been burritos. And I help myself to the hot sauce packs too.

No. I usually have to get all the stuff I need for my sandwich that's why I prefer doing my own if I have time to do it.

They put a lot of salt on fries at fast food restaurants and that's to be expected. The cholesterol will increase with too much of those salty fries and burgers. It is tempting.

Not so much as it was when I was able to throw my money away for it. I can't see spending over a hundred dollars a month on fast food with the bills like they are. It is healthier to eat at home and more economical. I only rarely go out to buy a burger and if I do it's not the bargain dollar burger, I like the combos and the larger ones with all the trimmings.

I do too. I once saw a couple come in with their own, a believe 3 or 4 oz. cups they filled them up with more than enough. They carried them in themselves.

I almost never go to fast food restaurants, to me they are too expensive if i look at the inventory side of it.If i have a bigmac or whatever, im hungry again in 1or 2 hours so i have to eat again. For this reason,l almost do not visit fast food corners.Max 4 times a year.

It is simply more pleasurable to eat at a fine restaurant or at home or even a PB&J on oat nut bread with milk. When the dissatisfaction from not getting what you ordered or it being just too much to eat, too salty, too greasy or just something they threw together in a few seconds, makes you want to go home and have a slice of that Dak ham on white bread and a glass of milk instead. That way it's your germs on the food not some fast food minimum wage hate their customer, hate their boss, hate their job guy's dirty paws.
