I got the following notice from Examiner regarding a review for a science fiction story, "The Planet of Dread":
Hi Denise ,
Everyone loves a little special attention, right? We thoroughly enjoy what you’ve written, so we're sharing it at a higher level.
The following article was promoted at the time you originally received this email:

I'm not sure what all that means, but more eyes on the review means more pennies from Examiner. So far, there have been no comments, which is good, because comments from other people at Examiner amount to, "You're an idiot."
But this does does give me the warm fuzzies.
As this short story opens, Mark Forepaugh has just realized that the hydrogen cylinders he and his Martian servant rely on for all their power needs are empty.

@msiduri Wow let he who has never made a typo throw the first stone!! I am a serious writer but transpositions happen and so do little errors. I think that type of critique is not helpful. I am an editor and so is my friend and we usually look each others articles over for any errors.

@BelleStarr That was how I felt. It would have been a waste of time to respond, though.
Not to derail the discussion completely, but what do you write? (Okay, it's derailed.)

Thank you!
A friend of mine from Epinions made a typo, substituting 1840 something for 1940. A self appointed expert pointed this out and then asked if the rest of the article was so accurate. I substituted "lift" for "life" or something like that and was told I was I had no right to call myself a writer. I corrected it, but other than that, didn't respond.
Yeah, they're pretty brutal.
