If you are a person with a Macbook OS X and using Yosemite or El Capitan then you would have seen this dreadful pop up. I just download a thing that has hopefully stopped this stupid popup. I got it from Apple itself https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US I will post an update to see if the pop-up continues. Has anyone else been dealing with this? It is because Java decided to not work with Google Chrome which is total bogus because there is a lot I use on Chrome! I use the extensions a lot and most do not work for Firefox or Safari. I hope this little Java for OS X works because I would like to play video games without having to pause randomly because of this pop-up.

I'm a Windows kind-of-guy. And I'm not a fan of Chrome. I keep trying it, but it keeps disappointing me. Still, I am sorry you are experiencing difficulty.

I want a windows, I got my macbook because of school. It has many things that everyone hates. It is a good computer but everyone is biased against it. I hope that whatever I did works, because the interruption is unbearable.

@DesirousDreamer I hear you. There are great features about Mac, but unfortunately, there is a snob-appeal to them as well. Not you. I'm not saying that. As to the Java business, I think there is more than one use of the word. There is Javascript and something else. My son knows better about that. I use Java (just updated the other day) with no repercussions to date.

@KuznVinny Yeah the snob-appeal is rather hideous. I love it but I would love to have a Windows laptop again. I love PC gaming and I cannot do that as well on an Apple product.

Certain I'd read somewhere that Java is on the way out. Too many security issues

Indeed, they keep screwing it up and it is a shame because they were doing so well. But now they just lost their edge.
