What would you do if you accidentally meet your ex?

Because I told my friend in one of our random conversations that I haven’t eaten yakitori (Japanese style skewered chicken), she made a reservation in her friend’s yakitori shop and set a date for us to meet and solve this immediate problem. The shop is typically Japanese with its cramped space and homey ambiance. The owner/ chef/server/cashier is a beautiful middle aged Japanese lady who gestured her way to my heart. She couldn’t speak English but I’ve never felt so welcome. Most of the customers were local patrons who knew each other from way back then but they were all charming to me. While my friend chatted with a few of them, I gobbled everything chicken and grilled and skewered. Then the door chime sounded and a tall guy with a sexy mustache entered the shop along with another man. The owner/chef/server/cashier greeted them enthusiastically and called my friend’s attention who was so engrossed explaining to me about chicken liver and chicken innards. I saw her blush and flush and blush then flush again before she regained her composure. Apart from the ‘long time no see’, she didn’t say anything else to them. Most importantly, she sounded sooo brain-scattered as she tried to piece back her chicken innards speech while wiping the beads of sweat on her forehead. And I said, ‘Ok what’s the problem?’ ‘He’s my ex-boyfriend,’ she blurted. So. There was an exchange of stolen glances from across the room. She blushed once more as the ex-bf bought us drinks. She turned even redder when he clinked her glass for a toast. An amusing phenomenon which made me feel like a teenager again. So going back to the question. What would you do if you accidentally meet your ex?

She obviously still loves him because she keeps blushing . I met one of my exes when i went to my uncle's province . I felt shy and i think he too was , at first . We chatted and talked about our own families.

@TLilly15 Yes because we didn't break up bad . We simply just lost communications anymore , since i was already working also in the province .

I'm 60 and married to the same man for as long as I can remember. If I do accidentally bump into one of my ex. I would probably pass by him without being aware because of 1. poor eyesight 2. poor memory

If it was an ex-girlfriend where we had parted amicably, I would probably be happy and we would catch-up. There is one girl and we never even dated who was crazy in love with me but I wasn't aware of it and when she wrote me a letter, I explained that I did not have romantic feelings for her and now she hates me and whenever we cross paths, I just pretend that I did not see her and get away as fast as I can. I have two ex-wives that cheated on me and I would probably smile and continue on my way.

@sol_cee I could write an interesting book but would not want to hurt anyone, so I won't. I would have to maybe write it as a fictional story under a pen-name, but I won't do that either as I have better things to do such as socialize on myLot.

I accidentally met an ex boyfriend in a mall. I was very excited to see him but pretended that i was not and just casually asked and looked around for his new girlfriend. The more i pretended not excited the more my speech became ...jumbled

@sol_cee Oh so you know our Filipino word "kilig" huh ...hmmm Yes its so "kilig" in English exciting to the bones. I hide my kilig because my ex boyfriend is much younger that i am and i'm too old to be "kilig"

It happened to me twice from two different exes of course. The first one avoided me completely and pretended he never saw me. It was impossible not to see me because I was walking on the street towards his direction and he was walking towards mine then when he saw me he changed his direction The second one, we met at a fast food chain with his daughters. We were civil and said our hellos like two matured adults. No blushes, no nothing. It was a pretty normal meeting.

nothing. I would just look at his feet then move my eyes up to his face. this will mean that his feet are better to be looked at than his face.

My husband and I are not divorced, but we are not together either,he likes men and I not, going to live like this, he use to go to the same church as i did, and he wanted to talk to me, but i kept my distance from him, when he put his personal life, on facebook i knew I had to stay away, from him because he had a nasty life, as far as i am concern.

@sol_cee It all depends which of my ex-girlfriends. If it would be the ex-girlfriend who is 6 inches taller than me, it would turn into a hilarious meeting. I know she is single (divorced) . . and she got a really good sense of humor like me. If ever that happens and my wife's not around we may do a very funny act that we used to do - - she used to bend down and I to stretch my body up to KISS! Just like a big/tall momma kissing a toddler!

Six inches taller than you? Then that must have been a 'long distance' relationship. harharhar

My first thought would be to turn and run in the other direction! After all, he left me to marry the woman he REALLY loved. So, there's nothing I'd want to say to him. But I could be polite if I really had to be.

Since our city is small, it's most likely that I would meet my ex often. One time, it did happen. I just smiled and wave and went on walking...

Obviously she still has feelings for her ex. I really don't know how to react because my husband is my first boyfriend. So the word "ex" does not exist in my love story.
