Downloading your money from the bank on a digital thumb drive as currency.

This is a funtastic idea. It would revolutionize the banking industry. Instead of using a debit card you could download currency onto a thumb drive and use it as digital currency that could be inserted into vending machines , used at the checkout stands and uploaded to other banks or other peoples' PayPal accounts with a few strokes of the keyboard or the touch screen. Instant money!

That's kind of how a Bitcoin wallet works. A lot of them allow you to download the currency to a local file to keep it safe.

Yes, I live in a cave most the time. If an idea that comes to mind is new to me it always turns out some other genius has thought of it, put a patent on it and paid for the patent and had it registered at the patent office and has a drawing of it in 3 dimensions and in full color format. But golly, I do think of stuff by my own thinking and wonder why there are so many people out there getting all the glory when all I manage is to think second hand ideas. It tends to make me want to cry. but I will not. I have my pride, as little of it I can muster. I wonder if Bill Gates and Steve Jobs had issues like mine.

@TiarasOceanView A stylus is a very good idea. It is more accurate than the fingers.

Something like that is being field tested at various places, only with a thickened credit card sized device to hold the chip containing your financial info. Apple Pay and some stores are along those lines. I know I can load money to my Starbucks card and use it via my phone app. What you describe, or something very much like it, is coming soon.

@lookatdesktop If you could come up with a way to use biometrics to pay at retail outlets, such as a thumb scanner, that would be pretty cool. I already use one at work to clock in and out.
