A couple of people I follow here on MyLot have done a Top Ten Favorite Songs by a favorite artist series: @JohnRoberts did an excellent Linda Ronstadt list, while @FourWalls will be unveiling her #1 Elton John tune tomorrow.
So I figured I'd jump in with what I'm feeling right now, which is Washington D.C. hardcore band Bad Brains.
The classic Bad Brains lineup (vocalist H.R., guitarist Dr. Know, bassist Darryl Jennifer, and drummer Earl Hudson) all like-minded Rastafarian's, formed in the late 1970's, and became one of the leaders of D.C.'s hardcore scene. In addition to hardcore punk, however, the band was quite adept at reggae as well.
"Big Takeover" is from Bad Brains' classic 1982 self-titled debut, which was originally only available on cassette.
"Big Takeover" is one of the band's popular hardcore tunes, clocking in at just under three minutes, and is chock-full of the band's muscular, hardcore riffage. It's obviously not going to be everyone's thing, but it's a fine example of just how good this band is.

@teamfreak16 I suppose you could make your own recordings, unlike with vinyl, and whose car didn't have a player

This band must have been regional to DC as I am not familiar with them. There were LA bands that never broke out outside of home. And your band is 80s punk/reggae so they should be a band I would know.

Oh, they're a great band. Sadly, every chance I've had to see them something has come up, or they are sold out.
