First dates!

I was feeling nostalgic today and I was thinking of my first date with my boyfriend! We were working together and we were friends before our relationship. One day he asked me to go for a picnic at a live streaming of a classical music concert! It was outdoors and I thought it was a great idea, but I didn't realise it was a date! So I also invited a friend of mine who didn't show up eventually. He was so kind and brought all the food and a blanket for the picnic! This was the day I realised that I would like to know him better! Do you remember your first date with your partner?

My first date with my wife was also a picnic. Our picnic was on a river bank in a state park one beautiful day in late spring.

How lovely. And what a nice memory. My husband and I met through a friend. We corresponded by email for a while then went to a restaurant had a nice time. I was so nervous.

Yes, it was very nice and it makes me smile when I remember that day! Did your friend insisted for you two to meet? Sometimes our friends can see the compatibility before us!

@besweet She offered to give me his phone number. I said I would be too chicken to call. She was annoyed with me and said, "All right. I guess I'll just have to give him your email address." I thought that was a good idea. Yours was the kind of first dates that sound especially pleasant. No pressure. It would have been a pleasant day to spend even with a friend.

@msiduri I think that your friend must be very proud that your date actually developed into a good relationship! I understand what you mean, I would be hesitant to call as well! I didn't feel any pressure on the date but I think he was planning to make a move and he found the perfect setting for it!

Glad that your friend didn't show up!! I actually didn't really know which is considered as our first date. We were high school classmates and we were good friends. We started dating when we were studying in university. I think our first date was going for a trip with a group of friends. I was not feeling well, and he accompanied me and took care of me. Can this be considered a date? After that, we still always went out with a group of friends.

@besweet Yes, I always think it's good to start out as friends. We knew each other much better, and the initial intention was really simple and pure - just to be friends, and from there, we developed our relationship. Yes, I always remember the first time he expressed his feeling, it was over the phone. It's a long-distance call from where he was studying - Taiwan. After one month later, he came back to our home country, and then we started our "first date".

Maybe he was planning to spend some time alone with you before that day! Since you were always a group, he might have found his chance that day to show his feelings! Do you think it's better that you initially met your husband as a friend? I don't know what's is considered a first date between friends who start a relationship! Maybe it's the first time that someone expresses their feelings.

My first date with my husband was at the beach after the sun set. The air was warm and it was very romantic to be under the moon.

Yeah, I think I was mislead too! He had everything planned and I went there with no clue! You have the excuse that you were young, in my case I should have seen it coming!
