So...I just discovered a band that I am going to be obsessing about forever now. They are called BABYMETAL and they are a Japanese metal band. And here is the best part...they are girls. YES a girl metal band, these are a rare find and also it is Japanese with is just like..what...Who....YES. Their album Metal Resistance just came out and I had to listen. opening up the album on Spotify I had no idea what this band was going to be. I heard the name before but that is it. I assumed it was going to be a girl band which I was super excited and then I heard Japanese and I was ecstatic. I love J-rock so much, I used to listen to it a lot when I was 13 and kind of just stopped for some reason I have no idea why. But man this band. Wooh, if you like Bullet for My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold or Halestorm, listen to BABYMETAL

I always love female metal musicians and punk rockers. As someone said, at least with punk rock, there is no shortage of them on the punk rock side. Just not many good ones. I think good female singers of those two genres blow most of the males away with their vocals

@DesirousDreamer To many go to the pop side of things. I actually know one left the pop music scene because they kept wanting to changer her music.

I wish there was a lot more to be found with female metal singers. It isn't like the 80s anymore. I mean granted I wasn't alive in the 80s but I love the fact that no one was afraid to say, "Yeah i'm female and I also rock!"

Maybe my daughters love this band. Well, I'm an oldie now so my taste is different from them hahaha.

Perhaps they will. And age has no number to music, just the tastes of others are different! I can listen to music from the 20s just as easy as I can listen to music that came out yesterday.

I'm not really sure if I like this one but in Japan everything is possible! I've listened to a few of their songs and yeah they sound catchy. Although, I guess this may be a little offensive to some traditional Metal bands or lovers but heck! To each his own.

Just like Rob Zombie said, there shouldn't be a tradition metal. Metal progresses just like any other music genre. Metallica cut their hair, singers and sounds change. Metal is all about just rocking out and having fun.
