Many People Wonder...

I learned a new word today, although I had already heard of this belief.
BIBLIOMANCY
This is the practice of opening the Bible at random in the belief that the first verse encountered will contain the help that a person needs to solve a particular situation they may be facing.
True Christians do not look for omens. Instead, they study the entire Bible to gain accurate knowledge and divine guidance.
Another thing that many people wonder about: Why world peace is so difficult to obtain.
Although human leaders have accomplished some steps toward world peace, the Bible explains at Jeremiah 10:23 that humans don’t possess the ability to direct their own steps.
The Bible also explains that the whole world is lying in the power of Satan, so that humans will not be able to bring peace. 1 John 5:19
Only Jehovah God, by means of his son, Jesus, will set up a kingdom for which many persons have prayed by repeating the Lord’s Prayer. That kingdom will put an end to all other governments and Jesus will bring peace to the earth. Daniel 2:44 Matthew 6:9,10

I have not heard that word before, but have heard about people who are doing this. There is a joke about it - One person who opened the Bible at a random page and found: Judas hanged himself. The next scripture that came up was Go and do the same!
I am sure the Bible is meant to be studied carefully instead, one subject at a time or it should be read in the right connection.

OH wow! I hope that person didn't take that advice. I love reading and studying the Bible. Right now I'm learning more about Elijah and Job. You are doing the same, I'm sure.

Yes, it does make life interesting. I am way behind on posting anything. I had a busy week end and I was VERY busy today. Tomorrow, I will be home all day, unless I run to the Post Office. I have a couple things to mail.
Then, Wednesday, I'll have my great grandson most of the day. So I don't get much done when he is here. He's studying for his final tests. He is home schooled and their last day of school is coming up this month.

@IreneVincent that is interesting. I had never heard of this word. I usually read some comforting passages from the Bible.

What particular verse were you referring to in Revelation. I like to add new scriptures to my discussions.

Thanks for sharing that. I'd heard of that practice, but didn't know the formal word for it.
