Rock The Boat

Do you enjoy angering people off just for the fun of pissing them off? Do you like rocking the boat?
There are times when the boat needs to be rocked. Times when you just can’t keep your mouth shut even if it means rocking the boat or ruffling someone’s feathers.
If you’re in a work situation you want to be careful not to ruffle the boss’ feathers. That could really get you in the doghouse.
Even though there will be no dogs sleeping in the doghouse you will be in, it’s no fun being in the doghouse. Especially if you’re in the doghouse with your wife. You may find yourself sleeping on the couch when you are in the doghouse with your wife. Oh, no, she won’t be sleeping on the couch with you–she’ll be sleeping in the nice big bed.
Have you ever been in a situation where you were waiting for the other shoe to drop? You know, where you just didn’t know what is going to happen. Or when. When the shoe drops, will it be a loud affair? Or will it be a soft landing?
Us Americans! Sometimes we just don’t make any sense. We rock the boat until we ruffle someone’s feathers and end up in the doghouse wondering when the other shoe is going to drop.

Of course I will rock the boat whenever possible
!
But one has to know when it is appropriate - because sometimes it's not! Some people just don't know when to stop and they not only rock the boat - they completely tip it over!

@much2say Not yet. Okay, time for another story. Years ago I decided to take a girlfriend out for a nice dinner. There is a very well known restaurant that sits just off shore on Lake Coeur d'Alene. So with my chest held up with pride I took my girlfriend there. We sat down and the first thing out of my girlfriend's mouth was, "This motion is making me sick." The lake was a bit choppy but not so much that I even noticed it until she said something about it. So they moved us to a table in the center of the restaurant where restaurant was mounted to the bottom of the lake and somewhat sturdier. But that put us right next to the kitchen door where all we heard all night was banging pots and pans and dishes. And the restaurant employees were dashing in and out all night. Instead of it being a nice night out it turned out to be a horrible date. My girlfriend barely touched her food because she was still feeling a bit queasy. Thank goodness she didn't upchuck. (Lesson learned: before taking your date to a floating restaurant ask if she gets motion sickness easily.)

When I was in high school I went to visit a friend. They were watching the 6 Million Dollar Man. They got into an argument over what he couldn't but should have been able to do. I could tell by the tone of their voices it was more joking than anything else. Afterwards my friend told me they argued like that all the time.

@RichardMeister Those kinds of "arguments" have always been fun for me! I can get heated and raise my voice and get out a lot of other frustrations while just having fun with someone. So much better than real arguments! :)

@CRK109 My friend told me another friend of his came to his house when they got into one of these arguments. He said that friend freaked out, said he had to go home and left.

Sometimes I like to rock it just a wee bit, but never enough to land me in the water. Or the dog house, lol.
