I figured this could be a good discussion, since I am Canadian. Also for my other fellow Canadians on here. After hearing what the new budget has to offer, well it is no good for me. They classify families and anyone making $80,000 to $200,000 a year middle class. Which means of course they get more help from the Government . Anyone making that kind of money is very wealthy and, should not get any help from the government. Children 0 to 6 years year old, their parents will get $533 a month per kid, which really sickens me. Not much less for children 6 and up. As hard working people barely get by per month. People will just be having children for the money. Young girls will be starting right at 18. This is not a good lesson for people have kids and, you get free money. What ever happened to a thing called actually working for a living? Oh and of course nothing in there about going after deadbeat parents. Oh yeah and just think how much money went to helping all these refugees. As homeless people sit out on our streets and starve. We are so doomed with this liberal government. Spare me the whole US politics stuff.

The system may not work long term , as you say, some careless people will go ahead and have children just because of the money, happened in Spain not long ago. On the money going to help refugees, this really outrage me,we have people who need help yet they spend so much on refugees.I live just 2 houses from a refugee half house, it sure makes me crazy to see them going around in their expensive phones etc. Yes l believe refugee spending money should be reduced by 50%

I think that the government needs to stop being so generous with the money that they dole out for the child tax credit. When we became parents we all received the same amount, which when it ended was a whooping $44 per month per child, and then it went to the current system. We never received a red cent after they went to this child tax credit as they government cited that we made too much. However, with so many people tapping into the pension fund, I would love to see the government start allocating some that child tax credit money towards the pension fund, as those coffers will soon be empty.

I don't thing that is enough money to convince someone to have a child.
