I love the Wizard of OZ. Imagine if things ended up a little differently. Try this on for size.
Dorothy confronts the Witch. She is setting fire to the Scarecrow. Dorothy throws the bucket of water to put out the fire, but some of the water hits the Witch. She's melting, melting. She's gone. At first, Dorothy is frightened. She didn't mean to kill the Wicked Witch. A palace guard says that it's no problem. Dorothy asks for the broom of the Wicked Witch. The guard replies, "Hey, there is splattered Witch goo all over the place. You can have the broom after you clean up this mess. Meanwhile, Toto starts licking up the goo. Toto's eyes start to glow. The Witch has entered into Toto's body. Toto flies off barking, "I'll get you Dorothy and the rest of you. Now I must go to my retreat." Dorothy no longer has her dog. The Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion are in shock.
Dorothy says, "I can't help Toto unless we see the Wizard." Off they go to see the Wizard. What do you suppose will happen next? That's your cue to give me your ideas.

That's a plausible ending, but mine will be stranger. Stay tune for it.
