Day 16 Psalm 16 Psalm 16:1 < Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. 2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extends not to thee; 3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight. 4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips. 5 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintain my lot. 6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. 7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. 8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. When things go right in your life, do you remember to praise God? We are quick to pray when things go wrong, even blaming God for the problems in our lives. Yet when it comes to answered prayer, when things fall into place, when the blessings start pouring into our laps, we forget and just accept that we were due for good times. David never felt that way. He prayed when things were at their worst and when they were at their best as the above psalm indicates. He always praised God for the answer to come, and when the answer arrived. When things did not work out, he accepted it as God’s will for his life and did not grumble or complain about the answer God gave him. It’s easy to claim God as our portion when things go right. How about doing the same when things don’t work out as planned? One of my favorite lines in a recent Christian hit song is: Your world’s not falling apart, it’s falling into place. For David, his world was falling into place. God had answered all his prayers and his enemies had left him alone. God had taken care of all of them. None were left standing to bring him trouble – for the time being. When we’re standing on the mountaintop it’s good to look up and bless God who brought you safely through the storms in your life. When you’re in the valley, it’s good to take the time to drink from the pleasant brooks and relax in his presence. We need to remember that God will take care of us no matter what season we’re in. I hope you click on the link, and enjoy the song, and give God praise for the good and bad times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIZitK6_IMQ God didn’t leave his Son to decay in the grave, but raised him on the third day, giving us hope that one day we too will see Jesus face to face. There is our hope and our praise. When we spend our days in God’s presence, there will always be joy, and pleasures beyond imagination. Give God praise today and watch God work in your life. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for holding me in times of trouble, and bringing me through the storms. Help me give you praise in every season of my life, for answers still on the way and answers received. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. I do love to praise God. If I am in a difficult situation I praise God for that situation. It gives me solutions.

It's amazing how many times solutions are found in praising God. It just shows us how much God loves us and wants to help us.

I always try to open my prayer with thanks.. even if it's something small like, "good weather". "I had a good day" and so on. It sets the tone right for rest of the prayer... I don't think I need to complain excessively in my prayer.. the lord knows.
