Time To Do A Little Housecleaning on My Family Tree

We all come across brick walls once we get involved with our tree and there are a few sets of ancestors that have been giving me trouble for some time now. I think that it is time to step back and see if I have copied something incorrectly or placed them in a wrong location. A lot of the info is a few years old soI think that I will spend a couple of hours today back tracking just to make sure that everything is correct. Another really easy mistake to make is to reverse the digits. I have to be really careful that I don't type in an 1856 instead of an 1865.. Sometimes my fingers will get away from me and that alone can cause those brick wall. Time to go through all of the material for them and double check. Hope that everyone is having a great Monday :)

I actually have an ancestry kit coming today. After I send it back I will be able to find out the various unknowns in my blood. My grandmother was adopted, so that's a big quarter unknown.

Oooh, Husband might buy me one of those for my birthday. I'll be interested in knowing whether you recommend it ... you must write a post about it!!

@Poppylicious Thanks, they just came in and I'll probably use them tomorrow. After that it will be 6 to 8 weeks until I know the results. If your birthday is any time soon before that it might be too late!

@OneOfMany It's not till July, but having said that if he buys it by midnight tomorrow from AncestryDNA he'll get 25% off. So, yep. Maybe it's best not to know!

I don't envy you. I hope you find the problems and can get past the brick walls.

I guess you have to be patient to go through all this stuff.

Ancestors can be very pesky. And trying to rectify other people's mistakes is very pesky. And even peskier, is those ancestors who completely disappear! I must do a bit more tree searching this week ... haven't done anything for yonks.
